Enrique Ferrer

Tenor
Born in Madrid, he began his musical studies at the Conservatorio Superior de Música in his hometown. Shortly after starting his training, he was awarded a scholarship in the United States, where he specialized in operatic repertoire at The Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia under the guidance of Bill Schuman and Christopher Macatsoris. He studied with Maestro Tulio Gagliardo, with whom he prepared his debut at the National Opera of Izmir with Puccini’s Manon Lescaut. He remained there for a full season, strengthening his spinto repertoire. He is currently perfecting his studies with Maestro Vincenzo Spatola between Milan and Madrid.
Ferrer’s interpretative talent has been recognized in several national and international singing competitions, including the Logroño Competition, the Jaume Aragall International Singing Competition in Barcelona, the Ernesto Lecuona International Competition in Havana, and the Luciano Pavarotti International Competition in Philadelphia (USA). From a very young age, he has been a regular performer in Spain’s major theatres and concert halls, developing an extensive repertoire of both zarzuela and opera.

Internationally, he has sung at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro Rossini in Pesaro, Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, Teatro del Giglio in Lucca, Teatro Comunale Alighieri in Ravenna, Teatro Comunale Luciano Pavarotti in Modena, Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, and the opera houses of Montpellier, Lyon, Rouen, Versailles, and Strasbourg. He has also performed at the Cologne Opera in Germany, the opera houses of Izmir, Ankara, and Istanbul in Turkey, the Kennedy Center in Washington, the Guangzhou Opera House in China, the Musical Theatre of Saint Petersburg, and the Teatro Argentino de La Plata, among many others.
He has worked with renowned stage directors such as Jean-Louis Grinda, José Carlos Plaza, Robert Carsen, Calixto Bieito, Louis Désiré, Claire Servais, Lluís Pasqual, Olivier Py, Gianfranco de Bosio, Paul-Émile Fourny, Beppe de Tomasi, and Emilio Sagi, all of whom have highlighted his strong artistic personality and vocal qualities.
His artistic intuition and musicality have led him to collaborate with conductors including Fabrizio Maria Carminati, Maurizio Benini, Tulio Gagliardo, Marco Armiliato, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Kazushi Ono, Valerio Galli, Daniel Oren, Donato Renzetti, Stefano Ranzani, Luciano Acocella, Will Humburg, Antonello Allemandi, Julian Kovatchev, Antonino Fogliani, and James Meena.
The Spanish tenor has performed in concert at Carnegie Hall in New York, the Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow alongside the city’s "Virtuosi", the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, the Auditorio de Música in Valencia, and the Teatro Monumental in Madrid with the RTVE Choir and Orchestra.
He has taken part in prestigious opera festivals such as the Arena di Verona, the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, the Aspendos International Opera Festival, and the Granada International Festival of Music and Dance.
He received excellent acclaim from both audiences and critics for a production of Carmen from London’s Covent Garden at the Guangzhou Opera House in China under the baton of Maestro Daniel Oren. More recently, he has performed in a production of La fanciulla del West across several Italian theatres.
During the 2018 season, he made his debut in Cavalleria rusticana and I Pagliacci, confirming his strong command of the dramatic repertoire.
